Really useful books - easy to read and understand

by Melinda Vlakancic

The more people know and understand this rotten disease - the easier it will be to a) talk about it and b) people will know exactly what Crohn's is and what we go through.

I have written a very funny and very truthful book about living with this shitty disease and still being able to have a good life and a good laugh.

I have been amazed at the amount of people who have bought this book, read it and loved it, but then passed it on to family members and partners to read so they too can understand more about it.

It is such a shame we are so ashamed to talk more about it

The title of my book is appropriately called the bare Arsed facts about Crohn's Disease.

Really useful books NEW
by: Annette Young

Hello there,

Thank you for writing in. I am glad that you have taken the time to share your story in book form. One of my biggest issues with this disease is that it has the power to make people hide away and to try to hide that they have this disease.

There is not enough information readily available on this disease either - that's my belief anyway so those that suffer from it, try to cope with it and to not let it encroach in any way on their lives and of course, it is not possible.

I speak to many people who have problems in their relationships and in their careers too and at the back of it is Crohn's as it disrupts normal life. The only way to cope with the disease is to make others aware of it and the impact it has. Unless people suffer with it themselves, understandably people do not know just how nasty the disease can be.

I hope your book is a great success and it demystifies this condition to the masses. Hopefully it will make people realise that they can lighten the burden with humour too so that some days, are just a little bit better.

Best wishes,

Annette
