Wondering about the fish oil

by Dell McDowell
(Peachtree City, GA US)

I've been reading the info on this site about the fish oil and it's benefits for Chrons. Has anyone out there used it with any real success? I have also had issues in the past taking supplements - I usually end up with severe cramps and the pill coming out almost like it went in.

Fish Oil
by: Sheryle

I have a 31 year old intellectually disabled daughter who has had Crohns for two years. Prenisone helps but has more side effects, she also takes Salofalk. I have been advised to put her on Fish oil but not sure about the actual dose. Can anyone help.

Any health food store as well as most supermarkets stock fish oil. It comes in capsules and I swear by it!

Fish Oil & Crohn's Disease

by John
(Topeka, Kansas, USA)

Has anyone had any experience with fish oil and Crohn's Disease? I've read a lot of articles about it recently and I am considering trying it...my wife takes it as a general supplement every day for omega-3s, so I figure it can't hurt...any thoughts?

Fish Oil

I have been taking fish oils for a about 6 months now and am really happy with the results. I feel better on a day to day basis. I understand that it has anti-inflammatory aspects and I'd rather take that over prednisone any day!!

I have had great results w/ fish oil. It seems to help everything, and is very good for you. I also take omega 3 and coral calcium.

Hope it helps

I just decided to give it a go! I have tried the Entocort and had an allergic reation, and also the Flagyl which made me so sick to my stomache. My body doesn't tolerate drugs well I guess. So I have decided to give the fish oil a try. I'm also going to make a genuine effort to change my eating habits. So I'm hoping that with that combo, it will work for a while anyway!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Fish Oil & Omega-3
by: JoAnne

I have been taking Lavaza with Omega-3 for 3 years. My doctors have seen some progress. If you click on the side bar were it says Crohn's & Fish Oil you can read more on it. The only side effect is you get a fishing taste for a little time. I eat some snack to cover the fish taste at the time I am taking my medication.
