Crohn's Disease NEW
by: Annette Young

Hello there,

Sorry to hear that you have just received your diagnosis and I'm sure it's one that you were hoping not to hear. I hear it time and time again that either misdiagnosis has occurred or that the doctors seemingly didn't believe that the symptoms were real. It has to be the most frustrating thing.I can only guess that maybe the doctors see many people who are faking their symptoms and who are seeking attention somehow, but this does not help those who are genuinely suffering.

It would be easy to remain cross and frustrated at your lack of early support but in reality, as stress and anxieties can actually impact Crohn's disease in a bad way, it is far better to focus all of your energies on remaining as healthy as possible. There is a lot you can do to improve your health and to adapt to this diagnosis but one of the most important things that I can suggest is acceptance. Fighting against it won't help but learning to live with it is the best approach.

The more information that you have about the condition, the better you will be able to cope. I attach a link that should form a starting point for you.
