Cobra is an Insurance that can be so important for someone with Crohn's Disease.

Cobra can save you financially if your Crohn's Disease flares-up. It will be expensive. But compared to paying all the medical bills yourself, it will probably be worth it to pay the extra money. Every little bit can help.

In 1986, Congress passed the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act. The law provides continuation of group health coverage that otherwise might be terminated.

Not all companies are subject to the law. Here are the group health plans THAT ARE:

"The law generally covers health plans maintained by private-sector employers with 20 or more employees, employee organizations, or state or local governments."

And it doesn't matter whether you were released by the company or quit, the company has to make it available to you. If the company cuts your hours to where you don't qualify for the company to pay their part, they still have to offer it to you. And you have 60 days to decide if you want to take it or not.
