There is help.
by: Brian

jwyatt,
There are some things that can help with your situation.

Please read my post here:
http://www.crohns-disease-and-stress.com/crohns-and-getting-help.html

I would be happy to send you what I found at no charge. I would also be happy to talk to you about it. It is a natural approach. It helped me recover. I can make no promises but would love to see if it has the same effect on others with Crohns.

What is your current situation with the disease? How bad is it?

Brian

no insurance
by: Anonymous

I only have major medical so my Asacol and Entocort are not covered. I also have a wonderful gastro that works with me financially. I get my prescriptions from canadadrugs.com. The patient assistance programs were of no help to me because the income qualifications are so low. The only drawback to getting my meds on line is it takes at least 14 days to receive an order so you really have to order ahead. Please everyone write your representatives and show your support for health care reform.

no insurance

The good news is you can go to clinic. There are free clinic that will set you up with doctors to help you with the diease. That is what I am doing. I just got out of the hospital with a big Chrohn flair. The clinic I go to will set you up with medical and they will pay for majority of my hospital bill. Yes you have to have someone to check you out with this diease. It does needs to be monitored. Go to the free clinic and do some google searches on Free or low cost clinics. You will be surprized about the resources that are there for people like us with no insurance.

entocort

can you not take prednisone instead of entocort? They are both steroids, just pred will cause more side effects. But, pred also only costs around $20.00 for 90 pills. My doc said the ONLY way insurers would consider paying for entecort was if I was allergic to prednisone. They do the same thing as far as stopping the swelling though.

patient assitance programs
by: Holly

it can lead to some yucky complications. You can get help w/ meds through the manufacturers patient assistance programs. I am currently getting meds for free. I have no insurance and am currently spending about 120.00 per month for dr visit and blood work. it is cheaper than any insurance for pre existing condition. When I actually get into remission it should be even less per month. Good luck!
