Teenagers with Crohns forum

by Amy Stein
(Fort Lauderdale)

My daughter 16 years old diagnosed with Crohns October 2009. Surgery (ileal bowel resection January 2010.) I think we should form a forum just for teens to talk to each other. Maybe a good idea for moms of teens forum as well. Is anyone interested in helping to formulate this? My email is amy101760 @ aol.com

Phone is *REMOVED*. Please email first.

Unquestionably believe that which you said. Your favorite reason appeared to be on the web the easiest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I definitely get irked while people consider worries that they plainly do not know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people can take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks

Daughter with crohns NEW

My 18 year old daughter is ready to go off to college. I think it would be helpful if she had some "cronnie" friends to relate to...currently living in south Florida but hoping for acceptance @ UNC in Chapel Hill! I emailed the two people that responded on this site already. The more connection these kids have with each other the better.... My email is

My diagnosis NEW
by: Molly 14 Years

Hi! I am 14 years old and I got diagnosed with crohns in October 2010. I had been suffering with symptoms from the start of 2009 but, unfortunatly, they could not get me in for a endoscopy and colonoscopy until october 2010. Afterwards, i was put onto a 6 week liquid diet but as soon as i had come off, within 2 days, my symptoms came back and I was put onto Steroids for 8 weeks. My face went fat and i got weeks of bullying from kids at school calling me fat. I went into remission for 5 months but, recently my symptoms came back again and i went onto the liquid diet again. I don't know yet wether i will be able to eat on christmas day!

Teens with Crohns

I would love this. My son was just diagnosed in July and is 17. He went off to college this fall though he probably shouldnt have. He has lost 100 pounds since May to August. He looks like a skeleton and we have so many questions and concerns and would love to have others input, especially other teens.........

Daughter (age 17) with Crohns
by: LaTicia

I just came across this thread through Google. I'm not sure if the forum is still going on but my daughter (age 17) has Crohns and her flare ups come and go. I would love for her to have someone to talk with that goes through what she goes through and maybe even offer help to her on how to manage the symptoms. Her email is ritsuka226@hotmail.com and her name is Shakiah. My email is lahall4@att.net and I'm her mom.

CCFA
by: Michelle

You should have a local support group for teens and parents through a local CCFA chapter. Here is their web site.

www.ccfa.org

If there is nothing in your community you can start one with their help.

I hope this helps.

Good Luck and Good health to your daughter.

Michelle
