Having a small bowel resection done and wondering if anyone can tell me roughly what to expect in regards to length of hospital stay, recovery, etc.... I am 37 year old female in Alberta, Canada..
what was the severity of your case? why did they suggest you have a ressection? did you research before Hand?

I had a bowel resection 4 years ago i was in hospital 4 wks i have put on weight and feel a lot better than i ever have done! After having my opp! Good luck!

I was 34 when I got my done and I was out of work for about 3 to 4 weeks. The worse part for me was having a bowel movement after, because your intenstines are trying to heal. Other than that recovery went well and you will feel like a new person when it is all over with. Good luck..
