Sinus tract and TPN

by cheryl
(iowa)

I was wanting to talk with anyone who has experienced TPN (total patient nutrition). My husband has been on this for 2 weeks due to a sinus tract and I am looking for any information. He feels tremendously better. Last thurs. was told to introduce mash potato, applesauce, jello, pudding. Got along great until cream of wheat on sunday. Backed of to clear fluids again. He is just worried this will not end until surgury. If anyone has been here before or can offer any insight I would love to hear from you.

I have been on a tpn. I was on clear liquids for a week after with antibotics levaquin and steriods prednisone. How advanced is his crohn's? what have the doctors said? what meds are currently being taken?

I have had crohns since 2001 and I have never had that problem. I do have flare-ups once in a while. I haven't had to have surgery for crohns yet. feel free to contact me at n_vollmer@att.net if you have anymore questions.
