quitting from Modulen ibd NEW

Hello there,

Thank you for your question. Nestle's Modulen IBD is especially composed for those with Crohn's disease. It is a casein-based formula and this means that it is rich in transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-B2).

This nutritionally complete formula can be take orally as a supplement or if necessary, the sole source of nutrition.

It can be used during the active or remission stage of the disease.

Many people feel that Modulen IBD has certainly helped with their nutritious needs, especially for those who really struggle to absorb nutrients because of digestive problems.

I have not heard of any problems coming off of this supplement but I would assume it means that your digestive system has improved and you are able to eat healthily now? You may want to reduce it gradually to give your body time to adjust and to prevent overloading your digestion.

But this is the only problem I am aware of.

I hope this helps and wish you the best of luck.

In general, there is no need to do it gradually. However, if you take it I assume you had flare so I would recommend to go first to low residue diet (no fiber, no lactose) and then if tolerating, advance to the regular one.

Good luck!
