try keeping regular

yes- i had pretty serious fistula 10 years ago.2 surgeries with the second involving a loop called a seton and i was fine for the next 10yrs. at 50 i again had a very severe multisituated fistula in the perianal region. my advice is to keep bowel movements soft and regular. drink lots of water too. both times i got constipated and developed anal fissues which became fistulas. every person is different so find a way thats best for you.
