Medical marijuana for crohn's

my names josh and my friend mike has had crohn's his whole life. He is currently taking medication for it once a week. I will look for the name of the medication and add that later... Basically we're wondering if he is able to apply for a MMAR number? Or apply for a medical marrijuana license for his crohn's? We live in alberta, canada.
