Having Crohn's and Macular Degeneration: Horns of a Dilemma

by Kathleen

Hello. I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease about a week ago after several months of diarrhea, stomach pain, etc.

I also have Macular Degeneration, a progressive disease that robs one of central vision. Nutrition is key to retarding this disease and I have been vigilant following all of the recommendations: fish oil, nuts, cruciferous vegetables, red wine in moderation, etc.

Now that I have Crohn's, I learn that all of the GOOD foods for MD are BAD FOODS for Crohn's.

Is anyone else in this situation? Having to trade off my eyesight for my bowels is a nasty situation. HELP!

Kathlen, I have MD and as also just diagnosed with Crohn's. That really is a dilemna. I hope you were able to figure it out. I'm also wondering if the Crohn's LED TO my Macular degeneration.
