anyone suffer from blood in the stool because of crohn's? what i should do?

My nephew takes high doses of fish oil for crohns. He finds that it is very good for reducing the inflammation. Fish oil does thin blood though so stop taking for a few weeks before an operation or it may cause excessive bleeding.
