dont let crohn"s take over your life by: fiona
Hi i first found out i had crohns at 21,i felt like life would never be the same again, but i knew i had to move on with my life and just get use to it anyway i could.when i first find out i was pregnant we were over the moon i got told to go off my medication because this would hurt the baby so at 5 weeks i went off the tablets 9 weeks and 5 days later i went to have a ultrasound and there was no heartbeat i was so upset with myself, when i got to the hospital i told them i had crohns disease and the doctor told me to stay away from the medication ,they said thats the worse thing to do my heart stopped if only i stayed on them i would still have my baby,so after my dnc i got pregnant 4 weeks later and i made sure i stayed on my medication ,my whole pregnancy was excellent and gave birth to a beautiful heathly girl i hope you all get what you want in life we are now trying for another baby i cant wait i hope this has helped alot of people hang in there.

crohn's and pregnancy by: Anonymous
I am 34 years old and have 3 children. With all of them i had pretty much no symptoms at all during pregnancy. I did have flare ups afterward (particularly after my 3rd). I wish i could bottle up a pregnancy drug so i could take that all the time. Not sure why it seemed to put me in remission but it was nice while it lasted.

Two Healthy Babies by: Tanya
I was pregnant twice and I have crohn's disease. Both of my babies came out very healthy. I was extremely healthy during pregnancy and I could eat or drink anything without any problems. I wished they could bottle it so I could feel that great all the time. After the babies were born I did have a little bit of a flare up both times but was expecting it and got ontop of it right away. Good luck

healthy baby by: Tabitha
I have had Crohn's disease since I was 2 I recently had a child April of last year. Unfortunatly my symptoms did get worse during the pregnancy. I was on Pentasa 4pills 3 times a day until the last couple of months of my pregnancy I really did not think they were helping so I stopped taking them and I was scared for my baby. I was also on prednisone for the majority of my pregnancy. I had diarreah almost everyday, but I was able to gain 32 pounds and had a healthy full term baby girl 7lbs 11oz and plan to be pregnant again next winter. Good luck to you and try not to worry too much.

better by: Anonymous
My wife feels better when she is pregnant. Probably because her immune system slows down giving her intestine a chance to relax.

Healthy Pregnancy by: Marylynn
I was very healthy during my pregnancy. I had a very healthy baby girl. She just turned 19 years old, attends Penn State and is still very healthy. No signs of the disease! I however, did have a relapse two months after she was born that required bowel resection surgery. On the bright side of that, my husband bonded with our daughter and she is still daddy's little girl today! Good Luck on starting your family. Do not let this disease run your life.

My pregnancy was great by: Shawna
I was symptom free my entire pregnancy. I actually thought that was odd. But I felt the greatest. And considering I have had Crohn's since I was 12 and I was 25 when I got pregnant, it was a welcome change.
Good Luck!!!!!!!!1
