living with Crohn's
by: Cindy

Sorry to hear about your pain. I was diagnosed 26 years ago and have tried several treatments. You will find the right combination for you. The side effects of the drugs are a problem too, also trying to hold a job. It does help to know you are not alone. Pentasa didn't work well for me, I gave it a few trys, I now take Asacol, Endocort, purinethol- protonix- sometimes prednisone and flagyl and levaquin. Do you have skin problems? Mouth sores or tongue cracks? I have been on several other medicines over the years that have worked well for a while. I have had to have the pyloric are of my stomach dilitated a few times (trying to avoid surgery)
Was able to put off surgery until Jan this year, so I've done pretty good. I didn't jump the first time I was told to have surgery

Some times you feel like you are the only one our there going though the pain you are in. I enjoy this web site as well. I like being able to talk with others about what I am going though and seeing what they are doing to get though each day. I am waiting on some results right now to see if I have to have surgery again. So keep your head up high you are not alone in this. If you would like to keep in touch on by e-mails my e-mail is friends24forever@aol.com

Anytime you need to vent I am here for you. I find it very helpful to talk to people who understand what I am going through since most people cannot seem to comprehend it or just assume we have a bad case of diarrhea. =)
